You'll be able to make some progress just with noob gains alone, but you'll also quickly plateau. At the very least you need to get some sort of bench to do presses, even if it's some cast-aside picnic table seat (pic rel). Pushups will no longer do much for you after a few weeks, you can do floor presses but a bench is very much helpful/needed

You don't need to alternate these, they work different muscle groups

Just do normal curls, you don't need special versions that have little variation
