It’s really not that surprising.
For the region they are functionally a 3rd world super power, but this is mostly propped up by decades old Cold War equipment that is 3+ generations removed. Israel in comparison is a tiny little shit stain unable to last on its own, but effectively a first wold nation with unilateral backing of the global west (although that’s clearly starting to fray for Israel)

This is unironically probably their best option since Israel doing stupid shit while the US and Iran are actively negotiating would further strain relations between the us and the kikes
