Khonshu probably thought so too, but you couldn't imagine how you would even begin to preach your faith to someone so assured in their own. You've never actually converted anyone before.
Ana took a step back from Louise and infiltrated Ben’s personal bubble with ease.
“We don’t have much time to waste.” she proclaimed, reaching behind Ben’s head to grab the spear from its place on his back. She inspected it, saw the Bolter strapped to his thigh and took that as well.
She then motioned to Deadhead and pointed at the Laser Lance he had slung over his shoulder.
“Walker. Are you using that?” she asked.
“Yeah, I'm gonna use it later.” he answered.
“Either pick the big gun or the rifle. How do you plan on using both?” she pointed out.
“Just go in the portal and get your own.” Deadhead proposed.
“I’ve only got one of those, man.” Ben put in.
“She didn’t have to know that.” Deadhead groaned, shaking his head at him.
“She already knows. She’s been in there before.” he shot back, moving to create a few holsters for Ana out of webbing.
Deadhead jabbed a thumb back at Harpy.
“Why don’t you take one of hers? She’s got like four of them, and she barely needs all that.” he pointed out. “Can she even pull the trigger with those big meat hooks she calls claws?”
As if to demonstrate, Harpy pulled out one of her rifles, and with one hand, she aimed it at Deadhead’s back and slowly pulled the trigger with the tip of her claw. It happened so fast, that you didn’t really get a chance to warn him. Deadhead cursed as soon as the burst of molten plasma slammed into his back. He only stumbled slightly, but that was about it.
“Motherfucker! I just got these clothes!” he snapped back.
“Proving a point.” she replied, replacing the rifle in its web sling.
Aegis gave Mekara a questioning look. The giant robot woman just shrugged.
“I mean…you were kinda asking for it this time.” Ben countered. “If you want me and Cindy to fix your clothes, then all you’ve gotta do is ask.”
“Yeah, it’s no trouble.” you said, hoping Mercy would feel the same.
That was apparently enough to mollify him.
“At least I don’t have to dig the bullet out…” he grumbled, rolling the shoulder that had been hit.
The smell of charred flesh hit your sensitive nose, and you had to fight the urge to take a few steps back. James seemed to be in the same boat, but if you were being entirely honest, this whole zombie invasion has pretty much been a buffet of bad smells, so you couldn’t bring yourself to care too much about this particular one.
“Cindy? I hope you do not take this the wrong way…but your friends are quite strange.” James observed.
“You have no idea.” you said, shaking your head at them.
