Other than geopolitical reasons of not having NATO bases around you, yeah, the EEZ is very important for Argentina, especially because it allows them to extract oil, which Malvinas is rich of (estimated 60 billion barrels), and the bri'ish are already started extracting the oil in the EEZ, as shown in the blocks in pic rel.
