I was today yeah old, when I learned that you can dupe the ticket stand/dice game by first going to the news stand first, scratching just a tiny bit of it to see what's underneath. If you don't see a dog head, then go to the dice roll and potentially get a better roll out of it.
I just tried it, on the scratch ticket I saw the dog bowl, cancelled it, then went to roll the dice and got 20 poly instead
