>People pushing against feathers have mostly been either JP awesomebros, scalies or losers upset about gays, furries and whatnot.
I was there during the peak of the Yutyrannus hype back in 2012, I saw people suggesting that Yutyrannus had feathers because of the seasonal climate it lived in get dismissed because a couple of autists made this retarded argument at the time that feathers actually *deflected* heat so it made sense for these huge animals to be covered in insulation in tropical climates. I wasn't against it at the time because I didn't know better (I was in high school) but it's insanely retarded to look back on and none of the people that ran with this shit at the time ever owned up to it because they were too concerned about owning the fanboy "awesomebros." To this day they're still more concerned about the "awesomebro" shit than anything else because it's the thing they end up bitching and moaning about the most.

The feather-war shit has gone on at least since 2011 and I know because I saw it all the time on DeviantArt and blogs back then. It was mostly autists pitting themselves against the JP fanboys over feathered raptors and the "science ruined dinosaurs" popsci opinion that was in vogue at the time. With Yutyrannus and All Yesterdays they only doubled down and any criticism of feathered tyrannosaurs was always dismissed as fanboys being unable to handle the vision of their favorite dinosaurs as real animals. It was an outgrowth of the earlier rift regarding raptors and feathers since it was the exact same individuals with the exact same sentiments. It led to shit like sauropods and even non-dinosaur Triassic archosaurs (like pic related) being drawn as having feathers. I wouldn't even care if these people showed some self-awareness since they ended up being proven wrong but they never do. They still have the same attitudes as before.
