As gay as it is for people who arent established to bitch about needing to be support to continue deving their game, you need to understand that we live in a society were free time is becoming less and less available. Cost of living rises, wages stagnate and decline, jobs keep demanding you work more and more hours, and jobs themselves are so scarce people now have to be thankful to snag something at entry level. Literally no one but the priviledge outliers have free time to game dev as a hobby anymore. It's time to put on the schizo hat and see this as a threat to close the indie dev scene for good. Think about it. First they come for the really obscene, then they come for the nsfw, people will ask how and who gives them the right to judge, then store fronts will now have to be required to only distribute products from properly licensed and establish publishing companies, meaning now people can no longer cut the middle man, you HAVE to get a publisher, and said publisher's will ONLY publish what is deemed acceptable within those statutes
