It lacks the OOMPH of Eternal and 2016, which Mick Gordon's sounds helped tremendously
The "STAND AND FIGHT" shit is utterly retarded, gimmicky, and makes the combat seem extremely formulaic (parry, melee/shoot, parry, melee/shoot and so on...) which is ironic considering they said they removed glory kills to make the combat more "freeflow"
Game is overall too easy, you never really feel threatened and on the verge of dying, every enemy dies way too fast, all weapons are broken op, sometimes you even forget that other weapons exist, it's all really meaningless
Levels are also all kinds of browns and yellows, often too dark where you can't see shit, even 2016's color palette was more interesting
Lastly the dragon/mech riding shit is a tacked on gimmick that kinda insults you intelligence
Lastly, the focus on story and sentinel characters was really awkward, the whole "Doomguy was le epic space-knight in the past!" was way cooler in 2016 and Eternal because it was just hinted at in cutscenes or codex
But in Dark Ages it just falls flat, and is uneventful at best
