One common method is to invent something related to the topic that needs to be buried, and then popularize it and make all of your denials about that one thing. And then when it is debunked later, people believe that this fake thing was the actual root of the controversy in the first place. Then they're more inclined to forget the substantive issue.

The idea is when you need something buried that everybody is talking about, put out something damning against yourself that is related to the real controversy -- but fake. Then act very outraged and publicize it everywhere, attempting to take over the narrative as the primary controversy. And then later just prove it. Most of the retarded public will simply just believe in hindsight that the initial controversy was surrounding this now debunked fake thing. That's what they're doing.
