Hey Art. First time caller, never a listener. This happened at an American consulate in Almaty. I was already pretty nervous when they called in my name. I went in the booth and I shit you not - there was a legit lizard person sitting behind the glass. I instinctively backed up against the wall and frantically started looking for the door handle to bolt out the room. In my panic I forgot where the door was. To my horror I realized the door was actually closed and I heard a clicking sound. Next thing I remember I heard a pleasant female voice say "uh - uh, sir, please take a seat". In a half-dazed state I plopped into a chair and I can't remember what we talked about for the first minute or so. The sun rays coming thru the back windows made her scales shimmer in vibrant colors. Her eye slits looked right thru me. She asked me what the purpose of my visit to the US was. I stuttered out something along the lines "Uh-I - I w-w-v- would lllike to visit San Francisco". I remember her saying "alright, sir, your visa is approved. Please pick up your passport at such and such address". I kept sitting there like a stunned fucking statue. Woke up when she finally said "sir, I have to see other applicants. Please leave the room". I ran out the room. Then the building. Then I sat there under the baking sun for an hour straight. Shivering from from extreme chills.
