This is what bothers me with the lower case t worshipers. Sure, let's pretend god saved trump because he's "The One" or whatever. But god still wanted his ear to get hit? For what purpose?

My understanding of it is he was trying to get trump's attention. He wanted trump to realize his actions have serious consequences. But what did trump do? Did he change his path in life? Did he learn a single thing?

If god ran interference on that bullet, it was to steer it closer. It is so much more believable that a nerd missed every shot.

And these two theories don't conflict with each other. He was a terrible shot and god wanted to get trump's attention. Unfortunately, trump has free will.
