I've legitimately been thinking about that ever since Natlan released. Sure, gacha characters typically get outclassed and powercrept over time, but it feels different when they have entire gameplay mechanics that just don't work anymore. It's also different from the underwater swimming in Fontaine, since that's not tied to specific characters. On the other hand there was always a disclaimer that the gimmicks only work in Natlan, so I can't even be mad. But it's still such a bizarre way to develop a game, and I'm feeling like my entire Natlan roster will just go on a shelf once Natlan ends. Also very curious if Snez will again put out characters that do basically the same thing, but this time in that region, that would be so ridiculous if they just keep selling the same gameplay abilities every year, but I also can't imagine them just adding some gadgets for free that let you do it from the get-go
Although I did also feel like it kinda jumped the shark once I had Chasca and Mavuika, since you could just keep flying forever. It's fun in the same way it's fun to find some bug that breaks a game, but it also feels very silly when you can legitimately just fly across the whole map and go as high up as you want, for example I flew up to the hidden sky fortress before I even got to that part in the quest. Eventually you reach a height limit where the game tells you that you can't use the transmission anymore, so they were aware that you can do that stuff but just didn't bother balancing it. Also makes this janky chink game feel very haphazardly glued together lol
