I hate the way they’re using dead rikkers as completely disposable props in this event. They don’t even implicitly acknowledge that they’re there. All we do is walk over, loot the bodies, and poof they’re just gone. None of the SB characters comment on them and neither SKK nor the other nikkes give them burials or even just pay their respects. In most other events, rikkers play at least some active role in the story or as environmental story elements with even relatively significant events featuring rikkers to excellent effect (Overzone, Old Tales, Red Ash, Nier, even Eva 2). However, here they serve no story purpose at all. They could’ve just used glowing piles of trash/scrap and nothing would be different. Not only is this just lazy reuse of in-game assets, but it also undermines the core themes and established story elements by reenforcing that nikkes really are disposable and that they made the ultimate sacrifice for absolutely nothing
