>Ami while a bitch ironically had the most genuine and realistic personality. She was the one that noticed ryuuji and minorin were substitutes for her parents
This is true. But it's also why Ryuji never got together with her. She was genuine with her feelings, but he didn't like her personality. She says this in a little monologue later on. And blatantly calls out Ryuji saying that he needs Taiga more than her. Which, at the time, he claims isn't the case. He doesn't understand it until like 3/4 into the show (see image for the exact scene he figures it out).
>The main problem is taiga. There are no consequences for her actions.
Most of the issues in the show aren't her actions. She's actually doing things to fix things being done to her and others. She's the one who reaches out to fix her broken home (which her parents reject), get the other characters together, etc. You can claim the plot makes it so everything goes her way. But it's not that she is manipulating people or making the bad things happen. The plot is. She literally tries to break off contact with Ryuji recognizing she's ruining Minorin's chance. But it's Minorin who forces them back together.

In almost every way, Taiga is trying to help others. The plot lays it on a little too thick with the whole giving kids presents angle. But it's just a rehash of what she's been doing most of the story.
>the only she ended up with taiga early on was because it was clear ryuuji liked taiga somewhat.
He certainly doesn't recognize it until later.
>Nothing felt earned.
I disagree for the reasons I laid out. But your interpretation is different. Not trying to convince you to like the show, but just trying to be objective from what I saw in the show.
