That’s right. To make sense of characters like Aira or Kouji, you’d absolutely have to add an explanation along the lines of, “They’re so exceptional that they can be in love while still pouring their passion into their fans.” Without something like that, it’s hard to justify them within the original statement.

From an adult perspective like Hishida’s, perhaps he was thinking, “They’re still too young to have experienced a love so immense—something on the level of marriage, or building a family—that they’d be willing to give up Prism Jumps for it.”

And really, since Hishida wasn’t the sole creator—there were many other staff members like Iuchi, Tsubota, and others who likely didn’t share his opinion—it’s only natural that various scenes would end up clashing with Hishida’s personal statements. Just like in the earlier interview book, I think Hishida should have added a little note to this tweet saying, “This is just my personal headcanon~.”

Also, K Ainon fans miss Iuchi-san too.
