it's quite bizarre to grow up surrounded by Aryans (My classmate had the literal surname Arya) and to have parts of your mythology sing the praises of Aryaputra (the sons of Arya) and then come to 4chan and see both Indians hated and Aryans idealised.
My belief is that the Hyperborean Aryans people identify with never actually existed and people just want to be a special kind of white person. In trying to find some kind of special lineage for those white people that they could claim, they went with Aryans.
But then again, I'm just a Dravidian who had to suffer growing up in the North in the middle of Arya-philic culture and people who are called Arya so what do I know :) If people want to believe they are Aryan, jeet or white, have at it.
