My whole life I did things because I was either supposed to or to avoid doing something I didn't want to do. I never was particularly happy with my life choices but I just accepted it as life and it's not like I saw other paths I'd rather take.
But now I'm 26 and I just keep spinning in place. I'm not a NEET, I have some friends irl, an education (that I don't care about) and a job in my field (that I don't care about). Things that I'd rather do are either unproductive or actively destructive, I never cared much about status, money or girls. I don't have any strong interests or hobbies, just things that I sometimes do to pass the time.
Is it possible to learn to be a driven person, with goals and ambitions? Because discipline itself is not enough for me if I don't care about the thing I do, it works for shorter tasks but if it's something that I'm supposed to work towards over longer periods of time I can keep up for maybe 2-3 months before I get burnout and stop caring completely.
