It was the Trinity's greatest secret and it was so confidential that only the Great Mother and her shadow dare knew about it. Not even Venus or Aeon knew about it and their dear mother certainly had no desire to tell them. What sort of mother would traumatize her beloved children like that? Would any mother tell her children about the horrible things they couldn't remember or would she let them remain blissful in their ignorance of the horror they put her through?

This was not to say they could have remembered even if they wanted to, as they were only infants at the time. Venus and Aeon couldn't remember when they were born, how the attending doulas and midwives screamed at the sight of them or how the attending physician nearly wretched at the sigh of Venus' limp and heavy body sliding into the woven basket. Aeon hot and bloated laying unmoving next to her sister and the priest begged their Mother to please just bury them for the sight was too pitiful to bare. Only their Mother remembered how through her own hysterical screams and her robe soaked in vomit she slipped Abaddon into Venus' pale blue lips and it slithered serpentine into her grey stomach. It had only been a few minutes, yes, so there was still time. They'd never remember how their bodies, infantile and lifeless, squirmed and convulsed as if they were speaking in tongues and when the jaws of Abaddon opened on Venus's stomach and the glass replaced Aeon's clammy wet skin to to shine radiant with life in the dawn that they finally sat up, naked and bloodied, to cry out for their mother.

No one else knew what happened aside from the Great Mother and her shadow. The divine conception remains as it is in canon and there is no one who questions it too deeply. A miracle is a miracle no matter the circumstance.
