im going to sound really reddit/soy for a moment but the current state of America is really similar to that of Anor Londo in DS1. it’s trying to keep the image of former glory, a fake light/sun reminiscent of a bygone era, in an increasingly corrupt world filled with ever-growing violence and instability. yet we maintain this fake image of glory, what with Trump’s attempts at things like military parades, the promise of reviving the long-gone American industrial sector, etc. it all feels so synthetic, so fake. one cut to it and this house of cards comes tumbling, the light goes out.
