As much as I like to tease southerners, because they fall for it so easily, the fact of the matter is that North and South have been reunified and working together towards common goals since at least 1898 when Joseph Wheeler (a former CSA general and a Democrat congressman) was leading U.S. federal troops in Cuba. The war is over and everyone has moved on as one people except a select bitter few.
