The poor kots actually got saved from one kind of hell only to find themselves in another. The woman's neighbour apparently immediately stole the cats for herself, locked them in a barn and was selling them off for profit. She then had the police crack down on her as well and the remaining 8 coons were confiscated and transferred to a shelter where they were finally given proper treatment.

At the very least those eight got their happy ending. They fully recovered, and even found proper owners. Here's one of them in late Oct 2022.
