like look at this shit, it's mounted to the very early StuG or the Jagdtiger, used even without dedicated mounting on the stubby Panzer IV as well as both the Tiger and King Tiger. The only bad thing is getting Hetzer top MG overpressure syndrome but you either don't put the module on if you intend to get in the thick of it or gaijin bothers to add a keybinding for raising and lowering it or plug into an existing one.

>hit periscope deployment button and/or commanders' view, hold still for stability, hit R
>get analog rangefinder access
>don't do these things
>don't get to use the rangefinder because it's too bouncy or isn't deployed
>if we choose to assume it simply can't be raised higher to go in the horizontal and that the commander can't use the integral bubble level to hold it steady it's still a 10x zoom commander's view
>a commander view that should potentially be shootable from if commander and gunner are both alive since it was historically used for fire direction, even if bino-gunsight swap shooting makes it unnecessary to have pseudo hunter killer
this is incredibly shrimple and also a bunch of unnecessary concessions because mobile rangefinding by both pure gunsighted crew guesstimation and existing unstabilized coincidence rangefinders is already allowed because the mechanic doesn't take any of that into question
