Germany has a 0,25€ deposit on plastic bottles, which used to be quite a bit of cash 20 years ago, but hasn't been adjusted since.
However the bottle can't be crushed, for the machine to accept it (barcode).
It's a neat system really - i've never thrown a refundable plastic bottle away (but i have given some to hobos digging through the trash).
