The reason for this became clear, if the arrival of the Centrian Knights in your front door was anything to go by.
And not only that, it seemed like Grand Paladin Justus Asturias himself personally came to meet with you. He was accompanied by some Centrian Knights, including that woman (you think her name was Estella) who had greeted you first, they all quietly followed him around with an almost clockwork-like orderliness.
You go out to greet him.
"To what do I owe the pleasure, Justus?" You ask.
"I have brought the items to thank thee for thy donation earlier." Said the Preceptor. "There was no reason to postpone it, seeing how you are now close to the Order."
Right, the Order of the Jagged Sword's headquarters was now in walking distance.
At his word, a box of mithril, and another of holysteel, the latter being a magical material that was blessed by the gods and with a good affinity for divine magic. Both were brought and gifted to you by the armored soldiers that flanked him. The boxes contained enough materials for you to make at least make couple of regular clankers or one armored clank.
Some more things are brought, but instead of materials they are actual items and weapons and armor: A Blessed Blade, which was a longsword that could deal damage to ghosts and other undead, as well as another Holy Spear with the same powers, appearing much like Gerty's own Holy Spear, if less stylized, along with a magical pistol that could shoot out a few small beams of Holy Energy (this was a bit redundant due to Herta being able to do the same thing but better), and eight sets of Holy Armor.
But that wasn't all, as you were also gifted various potions; strength, night vision, and speed.
All in all, it was pretty nice.
"I appreciate the thought," You said, "But I imagine you didn't personally come to visit me only because of this."
"You would be correct in that assertion, Lord Doe." Said he. "I bring both an offer and information, as it has come to my attention you decided to purchase the so-called 'Left-Bridge Commercial Center' to-day," He said, referring to the plaza you just bought.
"I assure you," Gerty intervened, "Master Doe only has the most noble of intentions."
"That I doubt not." Justus replied. "I merely wish to give a word of advice, as I've seen many Savants attempt to control that particular area: Machines cannot do everything. Clankers may help in both suppression and construction, perhaps, but it cannot cure the more fundamental ills that ail places like these."
"How may Savants owned that plaza?" You frowned. This wasn't mentioned by the seller of the place.
"At least three, as far as I'm aware." He started again. "Once more, I must warn thee— there are those that are set in their ways so deeply, that any chance for conversation is meaningless. I believe you've heard of the Bandit King, no?"
"Yeah. I put him in jail." You said.
