But that's beside the point: youkai are affected by the moon in a way humans aren't, it was the whole deal with IN incident, how humans couldn't spot the fake moon while youkai did, no matter the type of youkai. They are of different essence than humans. Celestials and hermits were never stated to share such dependency on moon as youkai do.

Grim reaper is the one who comes and tears out your soul out of your body when the time is due. The closest in Touhou are kishin, who hunt after hermits and Celestials. Komachi ferries souls that are already out of body to the afterlife. Not remotely the same archetype.

If being a possible ally to humanity is enough for you, than every single human woman that turned into youkai in Gensokyo is not a traitor to humanity, because youkai are ultimately subservient to Village population and need to keep humans alive for their existence.
