On the topic: Yes this was suspected, remdesivir and molnupiravir in combination with the use of ventilators in a specific setting where the breathing of the patient is totally reliant on the machines most like contributed to a huge amount of deaths.
Remdesivir is still in the protocols for care in many hospitals btw.
Sometime around late 2021 and 2022 doctors realized that molnupiravir is ineffective (to say the least) and countries started cancelling their orders.
