Welp I work for a company (I won't name) thats been researching this, and long story short: African Americas don't have the cultural impact they used to. They have maybe 1/10th of the impact they had in 1990 and most of that is wrapped up in top-down institutional equity shit and the rest is one off memes like "deez nuts". There are a couple of reasons:
>Most international markets don't really like ghetto African American culture.
In a nut shell: browns hating on browns.
>African Americas are now lower middle class on average
They're too well off, they used to face hardship which created a very strong ingroup identity and acted like a creative dynamo ("great art from adversary")
>No high brow black culture
There is no jazz, art, poetry or blues scene that draws in the "sophisticated artiste" types (this went out in the mid 1990s)
>No mid-brow black culture
No rap or rock scene that "speaks" for its era (last one was early Kanye according to my company).
>Only partiers & activists like black culture
Unless you're a roasty or antifa you probably don't love black culture. As far as zoomer normies, they don't really love it, they just ape or consume it because that's what others are doing.
So who is replacing black culture? A: internet contrarianism (I'm talking about YT/reddit tier not /pol/), I'm being totally serious it has the cultural impact blacks used to have.
