I think the problem is that it's 1/3rd a Kei route, 1/3rd a Nagayama route, and 1/3rd an Ai route. If it was going to have the twist, it needed to be a full Kei route.

Honestly it should've just gone full gay at this point, they were literally quoting Oscar Wilde while talking about how each of them inspires the other to be a better artist and how they need each other. It's the most blatant yaoibait since Shinji and Kaworu. I'd have way more respect for Sca-ji if he actually committed to it instead of just constantly teasing it.
