Maruki is a big deal for zoomers that were getting into college around the time Royal came out just like Adachi was to a similar demographic circa 2012. Both are "adults don't really know how to navigate life" characters and mental health is a hot button issue for zoomers like the hypercompetitive job market was for millennials
It's funny because the point of both characters is totally at odds with what both groups think about them and life has gotten worse for both overtime because of how that misinterpretation reflects in other parts of their personality
