depends on what pseudo successful means. my family knows me as the only one whos ever made it out of our hometown. the reality is that i ended up homeless after my dad kicked me out and i became nomadic for a while until i found a place that hired me. i dont have a good job or a glamorous amount of money though, i work like 12 hours per week and live on snack crackers and 99 cent macaroni or ramen. but still my extended family brag about how i made it to california on my own and live the dream (i live in the middle of the desert without a car but they assume everywhere is hollywood / LA.) admittedly i dont mind this lifestyle so much though, don't need a whole lot to live.
