I'm not even a Christian, I was raised Muslim, but to anyone who isn't midwit IQ, it is clear Joseph Smith was attempting to embody the spirit of a Prophet for the new nation - America.

His death, by the hands of an unruly mob, is truly Christ-like, but lacking in its divinity.

Quite sad. Had his beliefs been adopted, we may have seen the formation of a pure America with a prophetic leader, forming a lineage of Kings.
