I've been playing since the game launched and was just wondering what the exact point the game started cheaping out on alt styles was and im pretty sure it was chapter 4.

Early chapter 1 didn't have a lot of alt styles/customizations but mid/late chapter 1 did, chapter 2 had a ton, and chapter 3 had a pretty good amount too. but with chapter 4 it basically all became quick recolors, or at best maybe like a mask or some removable sunglasses. Not to say recolors didn't exist before chapter 4 but notice how even the collab skins have gotten cheaper lately being one style most of the time.

Battle passes have been resistant to this even if they're not immune, they've lost those fancy skins with like 10 customization options but you still get multiple styles for stuff - Compare Sub-Zero (2 unique styles and face uncover style) to Scorpion (mask removal and skull option which is also recycled into a back bling) or Kitana (one style, unmask) and Raiden (one style).

It just makes the game feel cheaper.
