You'll continue vacuum cleaning up abyss energies throughout the story and basically be treated as a roomba that gets rid of the garbage no one wants until you've finally sucked up too much shitty energy and your physical appearance no longer can contain it so you start turning into an abyssal monster
All of this was a part of the super strong and super cool Surtalogi who's a part of an ancient mystery nigga race from the ancient mystery nigga city (Khaenri'ah) that you visit in the final act and it turns out he had an eye on you the entire time because he suspected you were the reincarnation of his other super strong and super cool mystery nigga friend from many years ago and he just wanted to revive his cool mystery nigga city but you have no recollection of this and then you merge with yourself from another world to overcome the transformation which infuriates Surtalogi to no end so you battle his true mystery nigga form and kill him which also turns out to have been his plan all along since he realised reviving his mystery nigga city was a futile effort but he didn't want to give up so he just needed someone as strong and cool as him to kill him instead
All of this will be written by a newly promoted member of the writing team who previously only has written a handful of minor side quests but because the new writer made sure to reference random plot points from 5 years ago as well as tie together plot threads laid out by previous writers everyone will unanimously declare it to be pure kino, the best story in all fiction and yada yada. This profound success ensures the same writer also is responsible for Genshin's next region where they will be left to write their TRVE own story, an opportunity they use to revive their favourite character, Scaramouche, so he can become the new tragic and misunderstood villain (again) of the Teyvat chapter in a conclusion that ultimately leaves people satisfied yet simultaneously disappointed

God this game sucked
