European countries are introducing taxes on global income for their citizens. France has approved an amendment that taxes the income of its citizens who move to a country where taxes are 50% lower than in France.
The Netherlands has proposed a new tax for its citizens who have left the country, requiring them to pay taxes on their income (and potentially capital gains) for five years after their departure.
Spain already taxes its citizens on their worldwide income for four years if they move to a country classified as a "tax haven."
Germany, Norway, and the United Kingdom will soon also impose similar taxes on their citizens who leave the country.
