Doesn't really matter when the story in WoW is rancid dog shit. They need to do what ffxiv did and just give one creative person full control, for better or for worse.

Everyone thought Chris Metzen was gonna come back and save WoW but he quietly admitted he has very little influence now. In an interview recently he said "oh yeah decisions are made very differently from back in my day... today it's much more uh... it's more like a democracy than a dictatorship" or something like that. Basically he doesn't have creative control like his title suggests and he has to get the approval of a ton of devs to make changes. I'm guessing they did this to avoid le "toxic male" stuff they removed years ago like half the /silly voice lines because they were "too objectifying" and renaming all those wrath quests that were random gags and innuendos nobody cared about and replacing portrait art of women with fruit because the art was showing cleavage and that's too much, not allowed. Straight male gaze is banned.
