That makes BM extremely grassroots and more accessible than any other music genre, you can record your songs using a free online beat software and no proper guitar setup and use your phone or whatever, most BM artists are solo and don't even own any equipment other than a guitar. BM is usually preferred by the fanbase when it sounds raw and not when it sounds like it has a high production value like Aara or UNGFELL (bands I like).

The thing about most BM is that the vast majority really appears like it's purely apolitical, most is very deep like into existentialism and the human experience, on loss, etc. Peste Noire are good and I didn't even know they were RW back in the day when I was discovering a lot of BM, sometimes bands hide their views or simply obfuscate politics altogether.
