"How do you feel?"
"Stronger! I can sense it already. All that power soaking into me. He wasn't strong, but he had a lot of useful data. A lot of waste too, look."
He points to the remnants that are writhing in the sewer. Without a Digicore, they can't reconstitute, so you don't have to worry about it dividing endlessly.
"What kind of waste do you mean?"
"I felt it when I absorbed his data. The oldest bits were usable, but damaged. I'm guessing that he was taking in data all the time, but it all decays inside him in the end."
"He's gone now. Things are gonna be different down here."
"Maybe another Digimon will get a fair shot. I don't think they'll be following in his footsteps."
The two of you turn the corner, leaving the scene of Raremon's grisly defeat.
"HALT! UNKNOWN USER, YOU ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE DIGITAL LIFEFORM CONSERVATION ACT! POACHING IS PUNISHABLE BY-"
Porcupamon smashes the bot's head off. You stare at the battalion of servitors lined up on either side of the canal.
"Uh oh. Can you handle them?"
"Gladly!"

The bots don't give you much trouble, and you're not concerned with being tagged. In order to break through your encryption, they'll need to catch you in their light and complete the entire scanning process. That's a lot easier said than done with a Digimon toppling them over like dominoes. The patrol ends up being a snack for Porcupamon, and he absorbs their data to fix up the mild injuries he received when facing Raremon. Once they're cleared out, you make a beeline for the teleporter booth.
You exit the sewer and reset your model to get rid of the accumulated grime, then head back home. It's been a long day. Phascomon's plan to take your mind off the book has worked. You feel a lot better after your victories, and can relax once you're back in your apartment.
While you walk, Phascomon keeps bugging you about hitting the Clean function on the Digivice. You roll your eyes after the third time, but oblige. He's been helpful today, on almost every count. Hopefully he keeps that attitude up. You'll need to do a lot more training in the coming weeks, while waiting for Wind and Squid to contact you about the plan.
