I give gold, silver, non-medal, remove and abstain options for every player. I count the keep votes vs. remove votes after abstentions are removed, to determine the percentage support the player has to make it on to the team. To determine the medals I value the medal votes as points, 2 for gold, 1 for silver, 0 for non-medal, -1 for remove(if they are truly loved they will overcome this). Seems convoluted, but I can determine both via one question(per player).
