Any study that goes against (((their))) sacred cows gets discredited and ruins the author's life. A Noble Prize winner was excommunicated from the Church of Science for daring to suggest evolution didn't stop at the neck and maybe we aren't all cognitively equal. Anyways, things like hiring and scholarships and admissions are zero sum games. If some candidates are getting bonus points for their genitals and/or race it means other candidates have to be penalized for not having the preferred genitals/race.
For all I know you're one of the most talented and critical SWEs at Apple. I'm not saying you, or women in general, are incapable of doing the job. But as long as diversity hires exist, people can fairly question the qualifications of those who are benefiting. Don't tell me this type of thing doesn't exist, I have a white collar job at a huge corporation. HR is constantly sending company-wide emails bragging about how 2/3 of our workforce is female (yet if it was 2/3 male that would be treated as a crisis), putting on workshops for women to mentor/network with each other and encouraging women to apply for internal promotions. Women get their ass kissed nonstop in white collar work but since that's all they experience they think it's normal.
