The word "Christian" is centered around the word "Christ", so all that's actually implicit is SOME sort of acknowledgement of Jesus as a savior. (even if figuratively!)
Everything beyond that is some degree of "no true scotsman" for the sake of vanity, i.e. "not wanting to be associated with X".
You "not asking much" is asking too much for the definition of a word because its asking for more than the word says.
