Ordre du Temple Solaire is one my morbid favorites. Due to cult being so wealthy, the coordinated murder-suicides happened in several countries where the cult had their "Life Centers". The cult's rituals naturally included plenty of sex and drugs, and cult members claimed to have seen apparitions of Holy Grail in flashing lights used during those rituals.
