According to Russian media, the aviation collapse at Russian airports on July 5-6 cost Russian companies around 20 billion rubles (~ $250 million).

These are only official and preliminary estimates.

Rosaviatsiya (the Federal Air Transport Agency) reported that since July 5, airlines:
▪ canceled 485 flights;
▪ experienced nearly 2,000 flight delays for both departures and arrivals;
▪ issued 43,000 forced ticket refunds;
▪ diverted 88 flights to alternate airfields;
▪ provided hotel accommodations for 94,000 people.

The disruptions hit Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow, Pulkovo in St. Petersburg, and the Nizhny Novgorod airport the hardest.

As of the morning of July 7, 40 flights were still delayed at Sheremetyevo. However, Rosaviatsiya claimed the situation at the airport was "calm," with only "minor passenger congestion" observed.

At Pulkovo, 104 flights remain delayed, and eight have already been canceled today. In Nizhny Novgorod, three flights are delayed and one has been canceled.
