It's probably just a reflection of how the overall narrative is meant to work, but since we wont get the full picture for a long time stuff like this may rub people the wrong way.
I will admit though all the ideas of Undyne potentially participating in the dark world was REALLY fun. I know Ch 3 was supposed to be a "subversion" and that things are srris bzness now, but it still would've been a pretty cool rhomp.
I can't find it right now but my favorite interpretation of her dark world form was her as a detective.
