In China nobody is truly anonymous because the CCP basically controls everything and knows everybody's information. But people still make do, they have fandoms, they play video games, they cosplay, they have weird niche subcultures, they have conventions, they have a mostly normal life, but they just are extra careful not to criticize the government or whatever. There is literally a furry convention in China.

I think this is what America will become. People will always cope and try to make the best of things.

I mean, did you really expect we would be able to be fully anonymous forever? The internet has basically created the ability for people to commit crime from the safety of their on homes, for getting severely addicted to porn, for getting bullied, it's honestly astonishing it took the glowies THIRTY years to actually do anything meaningful about it
