Nah. My Angemon randomly evolved into Phoenixmon once after it died.

It happened inside the Ice Sanctuary so I dunno if that had anything to do with it.

Anyway, it's kind of silly that the Boss Birdramon is much weaker than the random Birdramon goons, but at least running away from Digimon is piss easy.
