I couldn't resist, plus my father doesn't have the ham license yet, I got that handled that is way overpriced but does SSB.
Here's what the setup will be :
my father 5-10 km away with a 1/2 wave vertical and a FT-891 and me with that device, I hope to rig a 12V battery supply to it, a one meter long antenna (I ordered a BNC telescopic one and a BNC "tactical" one) and the 4 watts of the device : is there hope to do the contact ?
Maybe a dipole (and me putting the antenna horizontal, more or less) to use NVIS will be better ?
