My parents paid off the family home. Then they bought a second summer home. Then they sold the first. Then they sold the second and moved into a retirement community, now theyre slowly working down the money they made on cruises, gambling, and so on. I live in a one bedroom apartment and have about $200 total in liquid income, only magically not in debt. My grandparents died, left a home that had been in the family for four generations to my parents, and they sold it instantly for more cruise money. Last time i went to visit my parents, they noticed the wireless mouse i had with me was actually my moms and took it back. I dont know what brain worm weve infected people with. They lived in opulence their whole life, and now via social security i get to pay their allowance while they do their best to piss away the last shreds of generational wealth they could possibly leave me with. And they have the audacity to get on my case for not having kids yet. Im not even bitter, ive suppressed all emotion in regards to this state of affairs because if i stewed on it for even a bit i think my reality would crumble.
