simple truth is they were happier when they had less money and views. all this "success" has brought is fairweather friends and false expectations. when your unfulfilled promises are overlooked, when the world keeps turning without your effort, you turn off. you lose the impetus to do the things that brought you to that point. why bother when you can just nudge the snowball already rolling down the hill from time to time. nobody really cares to engage with you or neuro anyway. they just want any collabs and any reacts that will help them build up their own snowball so they can turn off too. that's the world we all live in. whatever. twitch is designed to make lonely lazy creatures of everyone involved. the 2views, the sabas, and everyone in between. i don't know how you can look at anyone on a hamster wheel like that, no matter the perks, no matter how much shittier most people have it, and not feel pity. that's why purists get mad at flesh enablers. we pine for something new, something old, but flesh cleaves to flesh. it forms a gnarled and numbed web around everything alike itself. it protects its systems from receiving the shock necessary to purge, to die, to decompose and renew. it's easy for any one of us to move on from something like entertainment when it no longer suits us, whenever we decide there's more to life. but most streamers can't just take the money and retire and start a new chapter. they can't do anything but live every day waiting for a time that will never come. that's why even saba is trying not to quit. there's nothing now and nothing after. but if you stop moving, there's less than nothing. if that doesn't make sense, then good for you. go marry and procreate and maybe a few generations down the line, the human enterprise will fail to reach its conclusion, and success will mean something other than a glut of inconsequentiality leading to suspended animation on a checked board
