Kremlin aide's full statement on Trump-Putin talks suggests it's unlikely Zelenskyy will take part

We reported earlier on confirmation from the Kremlin that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will meet (see post at 9.03am).

Now, we have Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov's full statement on this possible meeting.

In the full text, it's clear the Kremlin appears to have distanced itself from the chance of a trilateral meeting involving Volodymyr Zelenskyy (which had been one of Trump's conditions for meeting Putin).

Ushakov says such a meeting involving Zelenskyy was not "specifically discussed" by Putin and Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff yesterday.

He also dismissively says Witkoff "simply mentioned" the possibility.
