I'll let you in on a good cheat. Carry the platform cart with you, everywhere. When you get full, slap it down, and fill it with everything bulky, and everything you probably won't find more of for the rest of your expedition. Then... leave it there. If you're playing solo like I assume you are, then you can recall the cart directly into the plaza... any time. All your junk will come with it. And you can divvy it out to your containers from there.

It's not cheating. Lorewise, you're putting Warren to work to go fetch it for you. He's a slacker, he deserves it.
